Office & Appointments — Billing & Insurance
Women's Health Consultants participates with most local and national insurance plans, including Medicare and Medical Assistance.
Below is a list of insurance networks we do not accept; this list is subject to change. Please check with your individual health plan for the most current information about our status as a provider with your plan.
You will need to present your insurance card at each appointment. If your insurance has changed since your last appointment, please be sure to let us know when you check in.
If your insurance requires you to use a specific network, you will want to verify this prior to your appointment.
Please call our business department if you have any questions at 612-333-4822 [option 6].
We are not participating providers for the following insurances:
- UCare (except for UCare Connect)
Co-pays must be paid to the receptionist at the time of check-in. It is your responsibility to know which services are covered and require co-pays.
Payment is due upon receipt of your first billing statement. If you are unable to pay in full, you must contact Allina Billing at 612-262-5000 to set up a payment plan.
Some insurance companies require you to have a referral to see a specialist. Make sure you are familiar with your insurance plan referral policy prior to your visit. Only your primary care provider can issue a written medical referral.
Coding for services
All health care providers bill for services using billing codes. These codes tell the insurance company what was done and why. It is not uncommon for patients in the course of a visit to receive treatment for a problem and routine services. When this occurs, we are required to charge for both services.
