“My interest in medicine came from childhood experiences with doctors and hospitals. Both of my beloved grandmothers had cancer and I had a back injury that required surgery and a year in a back brace. Seeing the impact that doctors can have - both positive and negative - had a profound effect on me. It is important to me to understand the whole person in order to help best optimize their health and well-being.

I was born in Minnesota and my family has deep roots here. I moved away for about 15 years after high school, but after our first child was born, my husband and I knew we wanted to raise her here. I have a deep love for our state and all its people. I’m passionate about the great outdoors and enjoy our family tradition of camping in the Boundary Waters at least once a year. I love to read, travel, laugh, be outside and spend time with my family and friends.”
